A number of articles and blog posts have been recent in recent months praising the jQuery Javascript library for its capabilities. Two of the most interesting I've worked with in recent months are animations (.animate) and the built-in AJAX functionality (.ajax).

Animations can be used to provide the Web 2.0 graphical styles commonly seen on the world's most popular and professional website. It can provide a great deal of the functionality of Flash without plugins or other addons or installs. Have a look at some examples.
